  1. Avalanche Safety Gear:
  • Avalanche transceiver
  • Shovel
  • Probe
  • Avalanche airbag (optional)
  • Avalanche training and experience
  1. Navigation Tools:
  • Map and compass
  • GPS device (optional)
  • Backup battery pack
  1. Clothing and Footwear:
  • Warm base layers
  • Insulating mid-layers
  • Waterproof and windproof shell jacket and pants
  • Warm hat and gloves
  • Goggles or sunglasses
  • Sunscreen and lip balm
  • Insulated and waterproof boots
